(MANCHESTER, NH)—The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, have partnered up with the Manchester Christian Church to provide about 3,000 children with school supplies for the 2012-13 school year.

The Fisher Cats will host a “Manchester Goes Back to School” promotion tonight (8/22) at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. All supplies were collected by the Manchester Christian Church, in bags that were generously donated by Queen City Paint, and the Ted Williams Museum.

The thousands of dollars worth of supplies will be handed out between five and six-thirty tomorrow evening at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

As if the night won’t be great enough, other partners will be in attendance. Eastern Seals_New Hampshire Child Development Centers will be providing program information and face painting, Manchester Community Health Center will offer free children’s haircuts, Manchester Public Library will offer library card registrations and fall program information, Manchester Police Department and Manchester S.W.A.T will be in attendance with the BearCat vehicle, and the Manchester Health Department will be there with the Dental Van. New Horizons for New Hampshire and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Manchester will also be in attendance.

Children at the event will receive a free hot dog and beverage courtesy of Bimbo Bakeries, Poultry Products Northeast, and Advantage Food & Beverage. The Fisher Cats will open up their MVP Generation Go Kids Play Area, and Fungo, the Fisher Cats mascot will be in attendance for the event.

This “Manchester Goes Back to School” fundraiser is a great example of how the Fisher Cats help the community. Fisher Cats Baseball is a quality organization, and definitely deserves credit for all of the work their employees do.
